Jacqueline Roussety

Director, Actor

Dr. Jacqueline Roussety grew up in London, UK, where she trained as both an actor and director. After working as an actor in various theater companies for over 13 years, she began an academic career as a lecturer in acting and directing, while also working as a director. She has trained film and stage actors for over 30 years.
Dr. Roussety earned her Ph.D. in Theater from Humboldt University in Berlin. Her dissertation analyzed the portrayal of the classical relationship between genius and muse. In addition to her work in Europe, she also taught at the prestigious National School of Drama in India, where she directed several Shakespeare productions as a lecturer in acting and directing.
After moving to Japan, she found new opportunities to collaborate with both Japanese and international artists. At UPS Academy, she directed Chekhov Unchained; at Kanda University, she has taught and directed productions of Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. She played the Nurse in StagePlay's 2024 production of Romeo and Juliet.
